On April 13, 2025, an EF-1 tornado tore apart the Columbia Material Recovery Facility, bringing down power lines, leveling the structure and scattering debris across the site. It could take two to three years for the city of Columbia to build a new recycling facility after a tornado destroyed the facility.
I was able to capture some of the damage that happened to the facility during a press conference.
